A major strength of Onslow County's workforce is the outstanding labor pool replenished annually by exiting military personnel from our two USMC bases. In the last five years, these bases averaged 7,500 exiting military personnel annually. The skills and work ethic of these exiting military men and women joining our local workforce, combined with the North Carolina Community College System's renowned Customized Training Program, is a significant asset that Onslow County offers new and existing industry. In addition, Coastal Carolina Community College, located in Jacksonville, has a cooperative engineering program with North Carolina State University to provide quality technical and engineering training in concert with business and industry in the area.
Beautiful coastal Onslow County is conveniently located within an hour of both NC Ports and two Interstate Highways; all accessed by divided four lane NC and US Highways. The Onslow County Regional Airport offers daily flights to two International airports.
